Image Consent & Release

Personal information is handled in accordance with Australian privacy legislation. The online safety and privacy of our students is very important to us. From time to time, Evoke Performing Arts Academy may take photographs and/or video recordings of students during classes, rehearsals, performances, or academy events. These images may be used to promote our classes and performances and to celebrate student achievements.

Where images may be used

Images may include individual photographs, group photographs, class activities, rehearsals, performances and event recordings. They may be used in:

• Evoke Performing Arts Academy's website
• Social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Printed or digital marketing materials such as flyers, posters, and programs
• Internal academy communications and digital portals accessible only to enrolled families

We will never include a student's full name or personal contact details alongside images.

Consent and Release

By selecting "Yes, I consent", you authorise Evoke Performing Arts Academy to use, reproduce and publish photographs and video recordings of your child for promotional, educational, and informational purposes. This authorisation is an ongoing licence that continues until consent is withdrawn. Withdrawal does not affect the use of materials created, published or otherwise lawfully distributed before withdrawal. It is provided without compensation, and no payment will become payable as a result of any authorised use. Evoke Performing Arts Academy owns the copyright in, or holds a licence to use, all photographs and recordings created by or on behalf of the Academy.

Consent is recorded separately for each child. You can give or change it during enrolment, and at any time afterwards on the My Family page in the parent portal. Parents and students are not entitled to review or approve images or recordings before publication.

Withdrawing consent and digital realities

Consent may be withdrawn at any time by updating your preferences in the parent portal, or by emailing admin@evokeperformingarts.com.au. Upon receipt of a withdrawal:

• We will cease using the student's image in any new promotional or marketing materials.
• We will make reasonable efforts to remove existing digital posts featuring the student from our primary, active social media accounts.
• You acknowledge that we cannot recall, retrieve or remove physical or printed materials, historical show programs, newsletters, archival records, or content already distributed before the withdrawal; nor media that has already been downloaded, screenshotted, or re-shared by others outside our control.

Once images are published on third-party platforms such as social media, Evoke Performing Arts Academy cannot control further sharing, reposting, downloading or use by other users.

Group performances and the No Consent option

If you select "No Consent", your child will still be included fully in all classes, rehearsals, and live performances. However, you acknowledge that during public showcases or large ensemble items, wide-angle group footage or full-stage photography is unavoidable. We will make reasonable efforts to manage close-up promotional imagery to honour your preference, but cannot reasonably alter, crop, blur or remove individual students from wide-stage or ensemble performance footage. Reasonable efforts do not require Evoke Performing Arts Academy to edit, blur, crop, or digitally alter images or recordings.

Photography and recording at performances

Our theatre performances have a strict no photography and no video policy for parents and guests. This protects every child on stage, including those whose families have not given image consent, respects the licensing conditions of the shows we perform, and lets everyone enjoy the performance. Evoke Performing Arts Academy records each performance officially; the recording is shared with enrolled families after the show and kept as part of our archive. These recordings are wide-stage by nature and include every performer (see Group performances above).

Photography by parents and guests at other times

At classes, rehearsals, watch weeks and informal academy events, parents and guests may photograph or record their own child only, where permitted on the day. For the privacy of our students, photographing or recording other children is not permitted. Where another child appears incidentally in the background of your own child's photo or video, that image must be kept for personal use only and must never be publicly shared.
