Where kids find their voice, and grow into it
Welcome to Evoke. Where every child belongs, every voice matters, and the joy of performance is the start of something so much bigger.
So much more than singing, dancing and acting
Hi, and welcome to Evoke! We offer musical theatre and drama classes for kids aged 6 to 16 in Palmyra, Perth, and we'd love to introduce your child to the joy of performance.
At Evoke, we believe performing arts is about so much more than what happens on stage. It's about learning to feel, to express, and to connect. Everyday life is busy and full on, and we want to bring back the joy, while gently building skills that help your child thrive far beyond the spotlight.
Drawing on the principles of psychology, our drama and musical theatre classes for kids in Perth help young performers grow real confidence, emotional resilience, creativity and self awareness. Whether your child is a natural performer or has never set foot on a stage, Evoke is a place where every child belongs.
We warmly welcome families from Palmyra, Fremantle, Melville, Bicton, Attadale, Applecross and surrounding suburbs. Complete beginners are always welcome, and we'd love to invite your child along to a free trial class so you can both see if Evoke feels like home.

Meet Kate
Founder & Director, Evoke Performing Arts Academy
Hi there, I'm Kate! I'm the founder, teacher and friendly face behind Evoke. I created Evoke because I genuinely believe every child deserves a space where they feel seen, heard and free to express themselves.
With multiple degrees in Psychology, over 15 years performing on stage and screen, and 9 plus years teaching kids, every class I run is designed with your child's whole wellbeing in mind, not just their performance skills. I can't wait to meet you and your child!
Families love Evoke
Kate provides a kind, collaborative and inclusive environment where even the shyest of kids come out of their shells. My daughter went from not wanting to sing in front of anyone, to singing and dancing in front of a theatre audience.
Kate is a wonderful teacher, very warm and encouraging, and clearly loves what she does, which really inspires the students. We couldn't recommend Evoke more highly.
She leaves your classes with more confidence than I have ever seen. To see her on stage with such calm confidence blew us away. And this is the first time she hasn't wanted to quit an activity after one term!
Things parents often ask
Anything else? Just send us an email at admin@evokeperformingarts.com.au and we'd be happy to chat.
Does my child need any prior experience?
Not at all. Every class welcomes complete beginners. All your child needs is a willingness to give it a go, and a sense of adventure.
What if my child is shy or anxious?
You're in exactly the right place. So many of our students walk through the door feeling nervous, shy or unsure, and that is completely okay. Every class is built to gently grow your child's confidence week by week, working towards our end of year show where every student performs at the level that's right for them. Building confidence in shy and anxious children is genuinely one of our favourite parts of what we do.
How do I book a free trial class?
You can book directly through our online booking system, or send us an email at admin@evokeperformingarts.com.au and we'll get it sorted for you. We always recommend a free trial class first, so your child can have a go before committing to a full term.
How much do classes cost?
Term fees vary by class. You can find the current term fees on each individual class page. We also welcome you to trial a class for free before committing to the term.
Can my child join mid term?
It depends on the term. Earlier in the year, mid term enrolments work well. However for our production terms, once we've started rehearsing for the end of year show, we don't take mid term enrolments. The best thing to do is reach out and we'll let you know when your child can come along for a trial.
Can parents watch classes?
For our younger classes (Bright Beginners and Developing Dramatics), parents are welcome to watch! For our older classes (Funky Freshies and Upbeat Up-and-Comers), we find students thrive and feel more confident having their own space. Don't worry though, you'll see all that hard work pay off at the end of year performance.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held at Our Lady of Fatima in Palmyra, Perth, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. For the safety of our students, the exact meeting point within the grounds is provided after enrolment or a free trial booking.
What is the psychology approach and how does it work in class?
Psychology underpins everything we do at Evoke, from how we plan and structure each class, to how we build rapport with students, organise groups, and approach every interaction. Rather than treating performing arts as purely a performance skill, we draw on psychological principles to help children understand their emotions, develop genuine resilience, and build meaningful connections with their classmates.
We can't wait to meet you
Whether your child is ready to enrol or you'd just like to find out more, we'd love to hear from you. We always recommend booking a free trial class first, so you and your child can come along, have fun, and see if Evoke feels like home.
